Wipe my computer?
Thinking of wiping my laptop and installing Linux, Ubuntu version. Memory management in Windows 10 is pretty bad and my computer keeps hanging. I've heard Linux has better memory management. I still have to assess if all my important apps have linux versions, but I'm enamored by switching. I have used Linux before.

@anselm Thanks. Would you suggest going dual boot for starters? I only have 237 GB SSD on this computer. I have used Linux for a while years ago but that was on a desktop computer.

@timgrindall @anselm I went dual-boot for some years until I had no more software tying me to Windows. That's what I would recommend. That was ~16 years ago though and disk space might be tight for you, so I recommend you strip out anything you don't need in your Windows partition, operate that way for at least a week, see what the disk requirements are and make sure at least that is available for Windows in a dual-boot situation.

@timgrindall I've left windows this year, but I was using linux and windows dual boot for years. Memory after boot in linux: 800 Mb used... I'm playing on linux, doing 3d, 2d, coding and most of the time, I have no issues. start with an easy distro, like Ubuntu.
