Finally non-essential shops are closing in Austria.

After the crowds at shopping centers this weekend, and generally this bullshit we call consumerism I’m really looking forward to a season where we skip a lot of that stuff this year.

Shopping doesn’t make people happy and it’s a garbage inducing part of the economy.

The 2020 election had a roughly 62% turnout, a barn-burning record by US standards

You almost never see US election participation described as a percentage of the total eligible population.

Because it would then be obvious that it’s embarrasingly low!

2. The 2019 polls were more or less accurate, and Trump’s popularity didn’t change at all or very little due to the coronavirus. The swing in the polls is explained by more democrats staying at home and increasing their response rates to pollsters.

Both possibilities are terrifying. The first because...well being popular and only losing due to the coronavirus.

The second, well if not even the coronavirus handling can make a dent in his numbers then there is no bottom, including genocide.

Ok so the polls were off (bear with me, this isn’t about polls) when it comes to Trump’s support by about 3-4%.

However, the Biden-Trump polls from 2019 were pretty much what the final election results came to be.

So there are two main scenarios to explain this:

1. Trump was more popular all along since 2016 than the polls said, including in 2019, and the coronavirus lowered his numbers slightly, but enough so that Biden could win.

Did I memtion how bloody creepy Southern Germany can be in November? There's almost no post-work done on these. #photography #MastoArt

Already seeing some folks tearing down this win with "both the same".

That's false equivalency.

Competent leadership by itself, regardless of ideology was enough to separate these two... I can't help you if you don't recognize that.

I have to say Biden ran the most gaffe-free campaign I’ve ever seen an US president run in my lifetime.

No, the danger has not passed, republicans are still fascists and made gains in this election, but fuck we can take today to celebrate this good news.

Then unleash hundreds of Stacey Abramses across the US.

Fucking finally!
