Elections and democracy

I’ve seen a huge bunch of wrong answers on what would happen if Trump tries to delay the november US presidential elections.

Ranging from “he can’t”, through legislative/constitutional trivia on the presidential line of succession, to analysis on how would courts react.

Those are wrong, they do not matter, and in the end that’s not how this stuff works.

In the end, a democracy is backed up by the people’s willingness to fight for it. That’s it.

So the answer is: Trump won’t delay the 2020 elections, he’ll most likely lose and then move out or get removed from the White House, because in the end, you and a few million of your best buddies get together in an organized way and make it happen.

Every civil rights movement achieved results the same way: by making it clear there will be no peace until demands are met.
