@caraellison slightly dangerous take imo:

1. To some people the way this is phrased implicitly implies that political correctness is just denying civility, when it is also about racism

2. I don’t want to be civil these days, even though I have high democratic ideals. Civility is for peaceful times, not for periods of crisis. Martin Luther King called civility negative peace, inaction in the presence of injustice. It’s wrong.

@szbalint I don’t think this is a ‘take’, rather a flippant finger at hypocrisy, not a coherent ideology in a tweet. The underlying thing here is: who gets to have their humanity recognised? Who is calling for politeness when?
