It's more than world-building, somehow the established universes feel mentally relaxing, even if there is a lot of excitement and fast-paced action going on.

@szbalint I love the Foreigner books. The first one's a bewildering slog (intentionally, more or less) but once you're settled into that world each new installment, however fraught with danger, feels like a chance to hang out with old friends.
