I've been taking minutes for a salmon recovery group that is part of a process for assessing, prioritizing, and funding restoration projects in the Chehalis River basin, from its headwaters (including all its tributaries) to Grays Harbor and the Pacific. Really interesting stuff that I'm eager to wrap my head around, and can I say

I hate this job.

@Fritillaria2 Taking minutes is the worst. I find it hard to engage because if I did that I'd lose notes on what is said. Also you realize how often everything goes off track, and when it does, how much of a tangent do you record? Bleh.

@dlek I was hired just so the members could focus on the meeting, not the minutes, but everything else, yes. Sifting through what to keep and what to discard is tricky. Also, there is a lot of casual, conversational jargon that throws me off, being unfamiliar with everything.

I take it as a challenge, but I'm not interested in having it outlast the summer. I don't need that much of a challenge.
